Front Page Glam

Two covers that stood out when I went to go check up on the rags were the two covers below…

First was Blaque Magazine

First, well done to Blaque Magazine on doing a story like this…
Secondly, wow, Bahumi is gorgeous…

There is a lovely 8 page spread photo shoot of Somizi and his stunning daughter, Bahumi.
I think she is gorgeous! Daddy taught her how to look after herself. What a beautiful young girl…

Another beautiful young girl graces the cover of Elle Magazine. Bonang… Not only did she grace the cover of Elle Magazine, but she is also covered in Louis Vuitton.

How hot does Bonang look tho… I prefer this pic, to the cover, but that’s just because I love the sunglassesGot’s to sell my car to get a pair…

Two great covers, two great diva’s and two great reads, without a doubt…

Princess Leia on the cover of Drum Magazine… No, wait… That’s Minnie

I like Minnie Dlamini, and spending some time with her at the You Magazine Awards, she is a cool girl. (Plus she loves Spice Girls)… But it seems like Geri, Mel B, Mel C, Emma and Victoria aren’t her only inspiration. Looks like she is a fan of the sci fi hit, Star WarsWell at least the Drum Magazine stylist is...

I did some research on this hairstyle, made famous by Princess Leia (and now re invented by our very own Minnie) and this is what Wikipedia said…lol…

The “Cinnamon Bun Hairstyle”

Leia’s well-known hairdo in A New Hope has been affectionately dubbed the “doughnut hairstyle”, or “cinnamon buns”, by many science fiction fans.Carrie Fisher, in an appearance on the UK TV show Bring Back Star Wars, said she hated her character’s hairstyle; she felt it made her face look rounder, and it took two hours every day to style.Miss Piggy of Jim Henson’s Muppet Babies copied the hairdo with doughnuts in a Star Wars-centric episode of the series. Also, in one scene from Mel Brooks’ Spaceballs, Princess Vespa also appears to have the hairstyle, but reveals that she is actually wearing a large pair of headphones. In the parody film Thumb Wars, the role of Leia was filled by a character named Princess Bunhead, who, as the name implies, had two cinnamon rolls for hair.

The hairdo has also been compared to the Iberian sculpture Lady of Elche.

Young marriageable Hopi Indian women wear a very elaborate “Squash Blossom” hairdo that superficially resembles Princess Leia’s.” George Lucas, however, has denied a connection, saying: “In the 1977 film, I was working very hard to create something different that wasn’t fashion, so I went with a kind of South western Pancho Villa woman revolutionary look, which is what that is. The buns are basically from turn-of-the-century Mexico.”

Meet the new Playboy Magazine Cover Model

How hot is Tshego? She is the new cover girl of Playboy South Africa

Tshego Seakgoe is the perfect PLAYBOY Playmate: vivacious, smart, unaffected – and beautiful.

PLAYBOY South Africa’s May 2011 Playmate has taken a break from her International Studies and Journalism degree course at Monash University to concentrate on modelling, which she took up seriously in mid-2010. But she will soon return to her studies, she says, and complete her degree through Unisa.

Soweto-born, 21-year-old Tshego is no stranger to the limelight, having appeared as a guest on children’s shows such as KTV and YOTV as a youngster. A particular highlight for her was having sung for Nelson Mandela on his 80th birthday.

So what does the future hold for Tshego?
As her studies suggest, she’s interested in the world around her. She may even pursue politics, she says, but she’s keeping an open mind about what lies ahead. “I don’t know what the future will bring,” she quips.

Playboy SA, how wack…

One of the few events I was excited about last week, was the launch of PLAYBOY SA.

You may be wondering why Mika Stefano would be interested in a naked ladies in a glossy magazine… Well, with the growth of TV Reality stars like Kendra and Holly, how could one not fall in love with the Playboy movement…

I was thrilled to hear that South Africa will be turning up the notch and will introduce this risky glossy sex magazine to our boring magazine shelves…
Names of South African celebs ran through my mind, so many different names, except for Tracy McGregor…
Well, to be honest, its a nice cover, but I dont see anything that makes it any different to Playboy USA or Playboy anywhere else?

I caught up with the lovely Tracy McGregor and this is what she had to say…

I found it weird that South Africa would launch Playboy SA and not have an African woman on the cover… I’m not saying Tracy is not African, all I’m saying is, I am sure they could have found a black model to grace the first issue of Playboy SA…
I had a chat to the little bunnies, who resembled a bad Easter promotion at Eastgate, and asked them a few questions. One question in particular was, “Why is there no African woman on the cover?”
It was a funny response, and well worth the watch…
I must say, Natalie (the girl who saved Zodwa’s asse), should be hired as the PRO for Playboy SA. The other bunnies should start their Easter hunt and get their bums back to school…

The launch has to be THE WORST launch I went to… Okay, in all honesty, I arrived a bit late, however, I doubt it could have been any better…

When I think of Playboy Magazine launch, I thought of a mansion in Sandton, with womanly strippers and sushi all over, not a random “joll” next to Billy the Bums… The directions were the worst… “Where is it?” “Behind Monte… Not Even in Monte…”
To top it off, I found out Hush wanted to host the launch, but Playboy decided on Pineslopes Mall… Ya, all I can say, is EPIC FAIL

I hope Playboy read this, and decide to relaunch, and hire a proper events coordinator and PR team… (I can recommend a few…)

Enter South Africa’s Hottest Barman

This should be fun… I am sure I can think of a few barmen… Hmmm, Lemme help Cosmopolitan scout for some cute Barman…
You can help me to, by tagging me on Facebook, with a cute Barman  who you think has the potential to be named South Africa’s cutest, hottest barman.

Bonang eventually gets the cover of Heat magazine…

One of South Africa’s biggest celeb brands has to be Bonang. She is a top TV presenter, Radio announcer, emcee, Fashion icon and business owner. However this heavy weight (well, far from… – Skinni Bitch) has never been on the cover of Heat Magazine. Heat Magazine are “South Africa’s Only Weekly Glossy…” (in other words, SA’s top gossip magazine)

I find it hard to believe this is her first cover… Pity she had to share it… But at least she made the cover… Well Done B

(perhaps you haven’t made the cover, because you are a good girl… perhaps not…)
