This past weekend I attended the Warm Up in Maboneng, Jozi. The event took place on a building that over looked the whole of Johannesburg. It was my first time razzling at the Warm Up, but deffs not my last time. I must say, since SWEAT 1000 I have really become an EDM fan. Especially Deep House. And this party was just that. Sexy deep house….
Some of Jozi’s coolest came out to party. The theme of the party was Rio, as we kicked off the three part celebration of various cities that are included in the Open Your City campaign. I must say it wasnt your typical Rio kinda party. There was no carnival or stereotypical samba tunes. But it was still Rio. I have partied in Rio and what you get when you hit the clubs in Rio is a complete cosmopolitan feel, mixed with an edgy urban feel and the party had just that!!!
They brought out well known Brazillian graffiti artist who was the main feature at the party. Here I am with Fabio ‘Binho’ Cerqueira from Rio, Brasil. They had his artwork (on his cap) re printed and given to everyone as little bumper stickers… I also bumped into Ally from zkhiphani.co.za as well as the gorgeous Kopano and cute Rapheal…. Almost a mini Trans Africa Radio reunion.
