“Many people want to help, but don’t know where or how to get in touch with the right relief fund communities. This will obviously give them a direct way of helping,” says Lalla, who is a Japanese living in South Africa.

Model and VUZU TV presenter Lalla Hirayama is going all out with South African celebrities to raise funds for the victims of the Japan earthquake. The event is called Aid4JapanSA and is supported by the Japanese embassy as well as the Japanese International Co-operations Agency, and through the Red Cross. Lalla is organising a celebrity fund raising event that will take place on Sunday, the 27th of March 2011.

The initiative’s goal is to gather SA’s celebs to show support and help with the relief aid for survivors of the Tsunami that have displaced almost half a million people, and encourage the SA public to do their part and donate to the Red Cross.

The day will consist of performances from various comedians, musicians, dj’s as well as dancers.

Celebrities that have confirmed attendance and support include: The current Miss SA, David Kau, Bonang, Danny K, C-Live, Poppy, JR, Slikour, Proverb, DA Les, Unathi, Lulo Cafe, Janez Vermeiren, DJ Switch, Thembi Seete, Elana Afrika, Clint Brink, Shashi Naidoo, Loyiso Gola and many others.

Make sure that you come through to Rosebank, The Zone on Sunday, March 27th. Come have fun while helping out the people in Japan. The initiative will start from 11am-5pm. I will be there, together with Saz, my co host and we will be interviewing all the different guests for our radio show.

Come make a difference and have some fun whilst doing it…

  1. is it an effort to help or a fundraising event for the participants?if it is for the victims how much of the funds raised will go to their pockets? If no mony will go to their pockets then they have an inalienable right to sue the organisers and demand all the funds raised go to them since it was raised in their name!

If ther can be radiation spill this governmet is in deep shit since it donated nuclear power to japan without weighing-up the consequences.

The principal risks associated with nuclear power arise from health effects of radiation. This radiation consists of subatomic particles traveling at or near the velocity of light. They can penetrate deep inside the human body where they can damage biological cells and thereby initiate a cancer. If they strike sex cells, they can cause genetic diseases in progeny.
