Peroni South Africa and Van D1 Entertainment are proud to bring another instalment of well-known Joburg nightlife sensation Analogue Nites to the mother city, Cape Town. Stylishly refreshed by Peroni, the event has embarked on a series of nationwide events, aptly named ANALOGUE on Tour. These events host local and international musical heavyweights and best loved new kids on the block.

 

This leg of ANALOGUE on Tour sees an impressive line up that consists of South African kwaito music veteran Kabelo ‘Bouga Luv’ Mabelane, self-proclaimed Prince of South African hip hop, AKA and Motswako hip hop favourite Khuli Chana.

“It’s a very exciting move for us to be hosting this instalment of Analogue just before one of Cape Town’s greatest spectacles, the J&B Met,” remarked Peroni Brand Campaign Manager, Juan Marc Correia. “Analogue Nites is the perfect platform to showcase the best talent South Africa has to offer musically and we are proud to be involved in this ‘tour’ to Cape Town”.

Hundreds are expected to make their way to Trinity in Greenpoint, Cape Town to the well renowned Funktion room. With its’ state of the art ‘Funktion One’ sound system, the nightclub is home to Cape Town’s richest sound and lighting experience.

On the night, finalists of the CSquared Top Swag competition will be announced. After an exciting online social media campaign, these finalists will go on to compete for the grand prize of the ultimate VIP experience in 2012 and clothing to the value of R30 000.

Also on the bill in classical Analogue fashion, are some of South Africa’s most respected DJ’s on the decks. Guests on the night can expect to be kept on the dancefloor by Analogue resident, DJ 1D, Kenzero and well known Metro FM’s DJ’s Sphectacular and Naves.

But some interesting things have been happening… So I thought I will catch up on whats been happening, in case you may have missed something…

So Kenny Kunene is dropping a CD. Yes, you read correctly… Remember at the Lil Kim concert he announced his record label, NU MONEY. well, eventually there is enough of it, to release a CD. The CD will be titled “ZAR Sushi Mix – Joburg to Cape Town”… It sounds like the title that leaves room for a Volume 2 and a Volume 3… (lord help us…)
Okay, to be honest he’s not actually on the album… It features some his artists like Eltonik, Bekzin Terris, Reloaded, TXL and B & G…. crrrr crrrr… Who are these people… I have NEVER heard of them. Surely someone like Kenny could have hooked up better known artists… Altho he did team up with Big Nuz. The two have a song called “Amathousand”….

All I can say is, Kenny darrrling, music is so last year… Even I recorded a song with a two time SAMA winner, a CK underwear model, a YFM presenter a Metro FM presenter, a TV personality (actually a few) and a commidien. But, because its Kenny, you obviously got more hype… *sigh*… I guess now all we can do is wait and see what Volume 1 has to offer…

On to someone who has a lot to offer, Khanyi Mbau… Now a bunch of nude pics of this socialite landed up on Twitter… Again. Who knows what the issue is with her ex, Thenius Crous (who I spotted in Sandton the other day) and Khanyi Mbau… To be honest, these nude pics are also so last season… Can someone leak an actual porn video… (even tho we dont have a porn channel to watch it on, I am sure BBM and Mxit will help spread it like HIV)…
Perhaps Thenius has a video, but he is to ashamed of revealing the size of his jelly tot… Who knows… I would rather a video of Sizwe or Lunga be leaked, not the above…

Local actress, Jena Dover is releasing a movie with American actor Denzel Washington. The movie is called SAFE HOUSE and is scheduled for release this year…

Cant wait to see Lorna Maseko on the cover of SHAPE Magazine… She will be on the Feb issue of Shape…

Thula Sindi was voted as one of Africa’s top 10 male designers… Shout Out to him…

Next week is the J&B Met… People are sorting out their outfits, hair, weaves, nails and shoes… This will be my first J&B Met so I promise to give a detailed report. I will be staying at the amazing Hollow on the Square hotel in Cape Town… (Shout Out to them). Besides the J&B Met, I am looking forward to Analogue Nights next week Thursday at Trinity (CapeTown). Yes, she is scheduled to perform in South Africa (Johannesburg) in November 2012. Tickets go on sale in Feb… Trust me, this is gonna be AWESOME!!!
Talking about international artists in SA, apparently Usher is NOT performing in Durban… Hahahahaha…. But does he not know, his largest following in South Africa comes from Chatsworth… One Time!

Also seems like there is another movie being made currently called Taxi Ride. Nice to see more comedy coming out of South African cinema.

Another local movie that has done rather well in its first week is Durban’s “31 MILLION REASONS”. In its first week it grossed over R320 000.00. Not bad for a local movie… Even though it may not be a comedy, they are laughing all the way to the bank…

Okay, so I know they were the big thing for 2011, but I think its still the tip of the Ice Berg for this house band, Mi Casa. 2012 promises to be a big year for these three guys… Hopefully with the SAMA’s around the corner, they will get a SAMA nod. Their CD is a must have, but something you cant miss out on, is a live performance by these guys. Do yourself a fava and make sure you get to catch them live…

CASH TIME

This young hip hop crew, Cash Time Family dropped their album late last year and they have already got the industry talking. They recently performed at Uyanda Mbuli’s Birthday and they got the crowd excited. This was the first time I had seen them perform, but I doubt it will be the last…

KABELO

A legend in the industry, Kabelo is back with a new album. Even though it dropped late last year, I think their are still a few more singles to come off this CD. He has worked with some awesome people on the album creating sounds that almost everyone will enjoy… He will continue his hard work with SHOUT in 2012, with a new Shout song coming out in early 2012…

SLEEK NOTE

This young hip hop crew really became well known late last year after the lead rapper, Young Nucho had an incident with Lil Wayne.  Okay, we admit he may look a LOT like Lil Wayne, but we have all heard his solo song “Im Not Wayne”. Well he is not the only guy in the group. The group is made up of 5 guys and they are all known as Sleek Note. I heard one of their latest songs and its not that bad… Possibly these boys could be the dark horse of the year… One thing they have showed us, is that they are determined and passionate…

KOYO BALA

One of the members of the popular group, 3sum, Koyo Bala recently came out with HIV status. He fast became the talk of the town, something he is used to… But he also quickly became a role model to many young and old people. He is currently working on his solo album. He has also teamed up with some awesome people including Zakes Bantwini. He also has a reality show dropping on eTV…

CHIANO SKY

This sexy 18 year old who studied at the National School of Arts has already got a lot of people talking. Chiano Sky is sexy and talented. With a sound that reminds you of Amy Winehouse and Duffy. She will be dropping her debut album this year. She already has two singles on radio and a sexy music video…

LUNGA SHABALALA

This young guy from Durban hit the industry early last year with his rock hard abs, defined chest and sexy smile. Lunga Shabalala was the first South African CK model. He was also seen in the annual Cosmo Calendar. He then won the presenter search competition and became the latest addition to South Africa’s most loved TV show, Selimathunzi. And this is only the beginning. 2012 Lunga will be joining Africa’s leading online radio station, Trans Africa Radio. I think there is still lots more to come from this young, stylish guy…

DINEO MOEKETSI

The ever so stylish, Dineo Moeketsi made people’s heads turn in 2011… I think 2011 was just the tip of the iceberg for this talented young girl. Soon she will be off to America to start filming O-Access but can currently be seen on our TV screens on V-Entertainment.

MATTHEW VICTRESS

Cape Town based designer, Mkhululi Dukuza is the creator of a well known Cape Town Couture label called, Matthew Victress. He has dressed some of Cape Town’s finest including Idols winner Karen. He wants to be one of the first designers in South Africa to design trendy yet stylist dresses for the curvier type of girl. Big is beautiful and I have no doubt this designer is going big in 2012

TANK TOP DJ’s

House music has never sounded this sassy… The Tank Top DJ’s are South Africa’s first gay DJ duo. They play house music but dont be surprised if you hear a Beyonce or Rihanna track thrown into the mix. Playing in their tank tops, these two promise to keep you dancing until New Years Eve.

STEPHEN FRIEDMAN

You may recognize this guy from one of your old Cosmo Calendars or you may have seen him and his sexy body in the Jockey campaign. Well, Stephen Friedman has more to offer then just his good looks (not that we complaining). This young guy will be launching his TV show this year… You may be thinking “Oh, another TV show”… Well his is a bit different, it is a Travel show with a young vibey twist. He will be traveling across Africa with varios African celebs, including 2Face as they discover some of the most amazing treasures Africa has to offer.

CELESTE KUMALO

Our current Miss SA Teen, Celeste Kumalo has to be one of the prettiest girls I know. She has just finished her matric and is now Miss SA Teen. She is smart, pretty and caring, I think this will be her year… Eventually a new beauty in our magazines and TV screens.

This is her first video directed by Pilot films and it is sexy!!! So Cape Town-y… Altho it was shot in the heart of Johannesburg.

Chiano Sky has to be my pick for this year. Its about time we have a sexy female singer on our shores…

The video is a party video and seeing as its almost the last day of December, this video should give you an idea of how to party this weekend…

Not only is it one of my fave spots, this is also one of my fav songs of 2011. Such a beautiful duet between Loyiso Bala and Lloyd who was from last years Idols competition.

I also love the video because they were brave enough to show a gay couple in the video. When I asked Loyiso about this, when he was in studio for “HomoNoHomo” he explained they wanted to show all different people who are in love or who love.

Much respect to them… Plus its a hot song!!! <3 it!!!
